What is HYROX?

HYROX is a rapidly growing phenomenon in the fitness world, known as the “World Series of Fitness Racing.” It is a unique competition that challenges both your physical and mental limits. A HYROX event combines running with functional exercises, making it closely related to CrossFit. The main difference is that HYROX follows a fixed format: eight rounds of 1 km runs, each followed by a functional workout. These exercises test your strength, endurance, and agility to the fullest.

Here are the eight exercises you will encounter in a HYROX event:

HYROX events are organized worldwide and can be found on the HYROX website. If you’re eager to participate, you can easily register online for your preferred category. Ask us in the box for more details! There are a lot of great locations around the world. Currently Miami is closest for Curaçao.

Training for HYROX at CrossFit Damacor

A standard CrossFit class at CrossFit Damacor lasts one hour, including a proper warm-up, a strength component, and a varied workout lasting between 10 to 40 minutes. This foundation prepares you for HYROX, but to maximize your performance, incorporating HYROX-specific training is key. HYROX events typically last between 1 to 1.5 hours, requiring sustained high-intensity effort.
